08/12 Middle of The Week Stuff

It’s Wednesday.

Hump Day.

The exact middle of the work week.

And this is what I found:

Matt commenting on  social media.

advice on how to clean out your garage so that you can actually park your car in it.  What a novel idea. OK, I don’t have this problem, but i have lots of friends who do.

And who doesn’t love a cute baby pic?  Especially a cute baby in a red wagon.

There is going to be a fall sock hop next month for the kids.  Check this out for further details.

Heather gives us a great Quick Tip on what to do with gift cards.

If running is your thing, John Denver, Monster Mix, & Stank: A Wild West Relay Race Report is pretty entertaining.

Haiku is a perfect description for this day.

Enjoy your evening.  And if you are in the mood for some fiction, stop by my blog Diva Fiction Bytes for the current serial story Riding The Wave.

05/19 Um- It’s Tuesday

The Day Before Hump Day- that is what Tuesday is famous for.

It’s Tuesday! What do you want from me?

I’ll start with a Different View of Beidler Forest because that is where I spent yesterday afternoon.  It was chilly, drizzly, and I slept in my car while The Girl was filming a science education video for a textbook publisher.  I’ll definitely return- on a warmer, sunnier day, of course.

Are you a hero?

Ponder the new automobile standards.

Ballet, anyone?

Xarker gives us a new form of writing:

We all learned to write in more or less the same way: Beginning, middle, endSubject, predicate, object;Thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Beyond consisting of three items, each of these approaches shares another common theme: Inclusion. Everything necessary to understand the point is expressed explicitly on the page.

Chuck talks about racks.  It is so not what you think.

Glee anyone?

And don’t forget that Piccolo Spoleto is upon us.  Check out the Top Five(ish) Picks.

Enjoy.  And FYI, Diva Fiction Bytes has a lot of new fiction coming soon.

Happy Tuesday evening Lowcountry.

04/29 WTH happened to Wednesday?

It seems that forgetting the Roundup is a theme for this week.  I decided to look for other themes, but randomness is so much easier (and faster).

Fox snubs Obama- and since he is on the tube right now on all the other major networks, I thought this post would be pretty appropriate. Check out what Patrick has to say.

Ok, seriously- Tartelette’s primary goal in life is to make me drool with those mouth watering pics and recipes.  Each time I check out her blog, I get the baking bug.  Fortunately, being super busy and extra lazy when not super busy keeps me from a house full of baked goods and gastric bypass. One word: cheesecake!

Read Jason’s Life Stream from Twitter today. If you are into listening to one side of conversation.

Did you know that there is a direct correlation between marital expectation and satisfaction?  So says Mark in Aiming At the Middle. Read his post and leave plenty of comments.

I love, love, love tea, and now I love, love, love Uniquely Tea.  Today’s post is about using tea tins to hold q-tips.  Pure genius.  OK, not genius, but a really good idea.

That’s all I got.  There ain’t no more.  Until next time.  Back to DFB.  Lots of ruminating to do.  Oh yeah, and fiction as well.

03/30 A Monday Full of Randomness

Apparently, there’s some unwritten rule that says you can’t pull the covers over your head and hide out on Mondays.  Yep- the week has to start.  But that doesn’t mean you have to like it.  In protest of the Establishment, this round up is all about randomness.  Just because we can.

Chasrunner runs her marathon in 32 days.  She knocked out 19.2 miles during her training run this weekend while in pain, but was rewarded with a win by her beloved Tarheels.

Frida examines what’s holding her back.

Mobile marketing is great for business- according to CopyDoodle.

Is creative destruction necessary for non-profits to survive?  Asked and answered here.

Calendar Girl is looking forward to the return of the Farmers’ Market.

Got a minute for some pics?  Check this Flickr slideshow of folks cycling in the city.

And finally, Geofftech gives us a bunch of stats from his cell phone.  Just because he can.

Happy Monday to everyone on the grind.

You can check Djuanna out at Diva Fiction Bytes for fiction to go.

03/16 Manic Monday

Welcome to a new week. It’s Round Up time.  A little late in the day, but here nonetheless.

Facebook got a make over this weekend. As a result, Lively Exchange is missing some friends and not too thrilled about it.

And speaking of makeovers, Signal 46 recently got a blog makeover.

The Organizing Mama gave us 5 no-cost strategies to gain control of our home.  My favorite tip is Get a Grip (in other word, know what you’ve got).

If you are in the mood for a little poetry, check out today’s haikus at Shadow of Diogenes.

Afrogeekmom highlights a new independent publisher for Young Adult lit.

Fuzzco went to NYC and all we got was this interesting post without pics.

David Farrow is offering free tours on March 24th and 26th.  (Make sure you RSVP by email first).  He leaves us with a little “food for thought” in the meantime.

If you are interested in human rights efforts across the globe, Pat and Kathie have a couple of recommendations.

Charleston Fashion Week is fast approaching, and Sense Charleston provides a link to get your fashion fix.

You do know that there are actually monks in Moncks Corner, right?  The Charleston Observer highlights Mepkin Abbey.  And they actually let men who are interested in becoming monks stay for up to 30 days.

Think South asks “Can cities create their own weather?”.  Check out today’s post and decide.

And finally, a post that will make your mouth water- Tartelette’s Lemon Curd with Chamomille Vanilla Mouse Verrines.  Ohmigoodness!

That’s the round up for today.  For more from Djuanna, check out Diva Fiction Bytes when you need fiction to go.
