09/14 The Title of This Post Is “Potpourri” in My Best Alex Trebek Voice

This, my inaugural round up, was nearly spoiled by the weather. It’s been such a gorgeous day that it seems everyone decided to go play outside instead of writing blog posts. Things were starting to get desperate. Fortunately, a few of you performed a noble act of generosity and donated your words to making me look good. And since a round up is judged on its quality and not is quantity, this might just be the best one the Low Country has seen yet. Personally, I’ll be happy to take the credit even though I didn’t do any of the work.

The XBox at the MUSC Children’s hospital is broken and has turned a place that no kid wants to be at into something a little bit worse. As The Bradburns tell us, Microsoft has is stepping up to the plate to give the hospital a gaming upgrade. But they could use your help (and your votes!).

On a much happier note, Joan has shared some fantastic photographs of some amazing wall-art in our area. I’ve seen some of these, but have so far missed out on a lot of them. I might have to seek them out as they’re really quite incredible.

As South Carolina has discovered lately, “all politics is local” isn’t just a cliché. We’ve found ourselves the talk of the national pundits a little too often recently and Eric thinks it might be time to provide a more national context to our politic follies.

Sabrina waxes romantic for a bit on music, love, and the Golden Hours of the weekend. If you’ve ever sat on your porch and watched the sun go down, you’ll understand. And if you haven’t (or just haven’t lately)? Today’s the perfect opportunity.
