Time sure does fly too quickly but he’s my baby :) (ssshhh he doesn’t like that.. ya know “the cred”)

Well here we go.. first of, thanks to Heather for sending me the OPML file it made this much easier to do!

Thanks to Ian, too (OK, I admit it, he helped me with this) :D Come and see me at Filipino Friends! :D

04/28 Very LATE Tuesday!

Sorry, for the delay I totally forgot all about the round up. So here we are.

As you all know sometimes, we go out to be out of the house (when you’re stuck indoors for long periods of time) you need to get out and stretch a bit. Sunday, we took a drive out to downtown Charleston, parked the car on King St and walked to Calhoun to a little place that CofC students hang out and Jared frequents often – Norms – Ian ordered the extreme wings, I ordered the chicken Parmesan; while we waited for our food, there was a P&C Preview magazine …there are some great stuff in there! (yeah okay, am a lazy reader…)

Also saw the City Paper too – and they always have great stuff in there as well, but this one caught my eye, in the section called a la carte – they review new/old restaurant/store openings – and this one caught my eye, a new grocery in West Ashley – called Nelli Grocery which the owner blogs to let everyone knows when there are new spices, veggies in season etc… If ever you are in the area, I highly recommend you to check it out.

And lastly go check out James Moffit blog, he writes about his experience at the #CREATESouth gathering this past weekend in Myrtle Beach. There were a few of us that carpooled with James as our driver, the carpoolers were: me (@katkimjac), Ian (@eyebee), Heidi (@carolinadreamz), Eugene (@imabug), Caanan (@caanantully).

Again thank you for listening to me, and come and see me here. Have a wonderful week!

04/22 “Hump” Day Round~Up

You know since I’ve started to do a bit volunteering for this round up I have found many interesting blogs just here at the lowcountry! And I do have one “guest” blog that I thought that I would share with the rest of you.

Frugal Dad – the blog is being how to be “frugal” with a family; I hope you find it interesting as he has some great recommendation as well as entertaining.

George’s Wonder Blog – is targeted more to the “techy” in you from a washing machine to Windows Vista – there are some great past posts.

Charleston City Paper – our very own city paper that is full of information – great info on where to eat anywhere in #CHS #CHSFOOD or #EATS; and Calendar’s Girl for sporting events around #CHS #CHSSPRT.

Charleston Beer Exchange – am not sure if this made any round up in the past, but there are a few interested parties here that are rallying for a good pint of beer. For british ex-pats that lives here, its like having CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale).

Just a few more mentions, stop by over at The Eye, Eugene’s, Jared’s,  Heidi’s ramblings and all those Lowcountry Bloggers members!

To end my round up for today – KK4 VIP – its a great article written by one of very own and there are comments from others, I totally get what this author is saying and some just don’t. And also check out some info on Good Food – read up on what you’ve been eating all these years, you would be disgusted! Also, I would love you to check back often on Home Ec 101 Heather’s got some great recipes and tips for all homemakers and also the life of a Moncks Corner mom she’s just moved recently, so give her some time to get all the boxes put away.

Have a great evening and see you next time at the “round-up” :) and if you have a spare moment, come and visit me at The Filipino Friends. :D

03/17 St Patrick’s Day Round-up

Its Round Up time and it happens to be St Patrick’s Day! So I just want to say Happy St Patrick’s to everyone here at the Lowcountry and hopefully it was a safe, fun day for everyone! As for my round-up intro, you might find this interesting, but although “green” is depicted as the color for St Patrick’s Day – history tell us it was actually blue – but the green reflected the “green clover” that St Patrick had as the flower – how did I find this out? There is a museum dedicated entirely to St Patrick located in County Down in Northern Ireland, and it’s the only one of it’s kind on the world

SCIway.net offers some great information of how to make a building “green” – What makes a building green? A green building consumes less energy, water, and natural resources. It creates less waste when built and is healthier and is healthier for its inhabitants than a standard building.

SCIway.net – This past weekend, NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corp of America) was busily helping a lot of homeowner who are on the verge of losing their homes. The Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America (NACA) brought its Save the Dream Tour to Columbia’s Carolina Coliseum. The NACA is a non-profit, community advocacy, and home-ownership organization.

I know we’ve heard a lot about the economy and the media doesn’t seem to give us any kind of upbeat news, but this really gets me – to steal from the Girl Scouts!! Check out this story at News On 2 – Thief robs South Carolina Girl Scout cookie booth.

Also a note – our very own Jared W Smith is being interviewed by Nate Steward, News 2 about the twitter scams and this will be aired on today’s 5pm & 6pm news.

For those beer lovers – check out St Patrick’s Day at Charleston Beer Exchange – they have some great selections from local brewers.

Chuckography – read about the new cinema opening in Downtown, Charleston.

Vera’s Crafty – for anyone that loves to do some crafting, like knitting, crocheting, etc…she is in progress of making an afghan in granny squares…

kbwalker posted to Charleston Inside Out and asks you for your 10 reasons when you think about moving from Downtown Charleston (in no particular order).

Check out Kittens on the Keyboard – she writes about her opinions of those whiners that think they’re the minority now… :) I found it quite entertaining and agree with her too!

As for those twitters out there, here’s a great post from Steve Rubel, SVP, Director of Insights for Edelman Digital on Why Twitter is Peaking!. It gives you an insight how fast twitter has bloomed from its humble beginnings.

Read about this trek by an English bloke who is criss-crossing the globe with twitter and you can follow him too – see his story – Paul Smith – Twitch Hiker.

For those who have pets, Charleston Paws & Claws – is offering a stimulus sale. Also they are doing a food drive to support Summerville SCPA – from March 2nd – 31st

That’s the round up for today, for more on Kathy go to Filipino Friends
