I Love Saturday

So sang Erasure in 1994. I quite like Saturdays, but then I like every day, most of the time.

Anyway, to kick off this particular Saturday, Denise at Uniquely Tea would like to remind you that today is “Talk Like A Pirate Day”.  If you’re a tea aficionado you’ll find lots about tea there too of course!

Someone sent me one of those amusing emails a couple of days ago. This one was about how things used to be. I clipped an except from it and posted it to The Eye, as it’s really true.  We really did only have Slow Food!

One thing I like about a Slow Cooker, is that once you’ve gotten all the ingredients together and into the pot, you can usually go away and forget it for a few hours, and (within reason) it won’t ruin if you’re  late back to it. Perhaps you’d like to try out this great recipe for Cajun Beans and Red Rice from Hugging The Coast.

Many blogs containing recipes come with great photographs of methods and finished dishes, which leads me  to tell you about Paul’s Problem. Paul Lester has got too many cameras! I wish I had that problem, Paul, Anyhow,  stop and take a look at Paul Lester Photography, where he explains his predicament.

In Mount Pleasant five poker players have been involved in a predicament of a different kind. The Texas Hold ‘Em Games Saga continues for them. Read more at Park West Palazzo

Jared W. Smith has some great news he’d like to share with everyone over at Jared W. Smith. I’m sure I speak for everyone, in congratulating Jared, and wishing him every success for the future.

On a more sober note, here is a though-provoking and moving post from the spouse of an alcoholic. Check it out at I’m Just F.I.N.E

I spend way too much time at my desk. I know I should exercise more. I used to really enjoy cycling. It’s a great way to explore the area, and to keep fit as well.  Having said that, Blogs like Greg On The Run at least make me think about getting off my butt  more.

Also, if you’ve got a few hours to spare today you could get over to the Scottish Games at Boone Hall

That’s about it from me for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Catch me around all over the place online,  I’m often found in Twitter and Friendfeed
