Mother Nature’s Throwing Heat
I say this tweet from Heather pretty much sums it up:
It is so hot the heat knocks you down while the humidity steals your lunch money.
It is, indeed, nearly oppressively hot out there, so be careful when you’re out and about. Hydrate early and often! I’ll be periodically updating the high heat over on Twitter and Identi.ca with a roundup of just how bad it got later on tonight over at my weather blog.
Social Media Club Charleston is launching!
Charleston’s own chapter of Social Media Club officially launches Tuesday night at the College of Charleston with a panel discussion that asks local members of the media about the value they find in social media. Panelists include Ken Hawkins of TheDigitel.com, Dan Conover, Janet Edens of the Post & Courier, Andy Owens of the Charleston Regional Business Journal, and Raymond Owens of WCBD News 2. We kick things off at 6:30 PM Tuesday and hope to see you there! Check out the event on Facebook.
To the blogs…
It’s Father’s Day Weekend. Kathy celebrates her late father’s birthday — he would have been 84 today. Here’s James Moffitt:
This weekend is Fathers Day weekend so I hope all of you fathers are able to enjoy this time with your families and are thankful to God for the blessing your family is to you. I am also hoping that your families will appreciate all that you do for them through the year. I always tell my children that the best gift in all the world that they could give to me is just to love me. I know that my children love me and it is always extra special to me when they take the time to demonstrate that love in some small way.
